HILARIOUS SPECIAL EFFECT MOMENTS
QUOTES
Sinbad: I don’t
understand this… Linopians have always welcomed everyone with open arms.
Firouz: They
must have changed their policy.
Doubar: That’s
Talia, the Black Rose of Ohman{?}. The Pirate Queen whose tongue is as quick as
her sword.
Sinbad: Looks
like she’s relying on her tongue today.
Talia: Well, are
you going to help me or not?
Sinbad: Doubar?
Doubar: Tally me
with Talia.
Sinbad: Firouz?
Firouz: I’m
always up for the right crusade.
Sinbad: Rongar…
{Rongar
nods yes. Smiling, Sinbad turns to regard Maeve who looks less than thrilled}
Maeve: {looks
over at Talia who is smiling expectantly} As long as you’re not giving the
orders.
Doubar: What is
that?
Talia: Well,
we’re supposed to be pilgrims, right? So during the night Rongar and I went
around camp and we collected our own offering to Kratos.
Sinbad:
Elephant dung?
Talia: Correct,
it is elephant dung. But by the time they open it, we’re going to be long gone.
Talia: {hanging
upside down} Ah, Sinbad, you’re a beautiful sight. Of course, that could
just be the blood rushing to my head.
Doubar: Right. We
have to make sure we’re out of that temple before it opens at dawn, otherwise
we’re going to end up as breakfast for that monster.
Maeve: Not to
mention what damage Talia’s hooks might accomplish during the night. (hehe,
jealous much, Maeve?)
Talia: So, this,
uh… Maeve-person. What is she to you?
Sinbad: {pauses;
though I pretend it’s a lot longer than it is} She’s part of my crew.
Talia: Ooh.
Well, that’s a relief.
Talia: Looks like
your friends have left us hanging. Smarter than I thought.
Sinbad: Real
friends aren’t like that. Someday you’ll figure that out Talia.
Priest: Can you
kill no one today?
Guard: Yes. I can.
Talia: Will you
come with me Sinbad? I could use someone around to keep me honest.
Sinbad: {looks
at Maeve and the others} That’s my crew...
Talia: Ahh… I
just thought I’d ask.
Maeve:
Did I hear her say something about borrowing something?
Sinbad: She needs a boat. {slowly
realizing} I… think we better get back to the ship. Fast!
EPISODE IMAGE RECAP

POINTS TO PONDER
That
scene with Talia and Sinbad in the cage always drove me nuts. They broach the
subject we’ve been waiting the entire episode for (Talia asking Sinbad
about his relationship with Maeve)—and it goes nowhere. If anything, it
makes it seem like he may still have feeling for Talia! It’s not even his answer
to the question that annoys me—after all, it would be weird for him to admit
that he does have feelings for her, when he might not even be conscious of it
himself. But that whole scene is like a fake-set up for something that’s
supposed to happen later on in the episode, but doesn’t. Like, Sinbad
risking his life to save Maeve, forcing Talia to realize that he does have
feelings for the sorceress after all—something. Without it, that whole
scene just comes across as a huge invitation for Talia to continue being whorish
and trashy.
Yes. I’m
bitter.
